[amerikanisch, 'flægweɪvə(r)], im Swing Bezeichnung für besonders rasante Bigband-Arrangements, die bei den in den Dreißigerjahren veranstalteten Band-Wettkämpfen (Battle) aufkamen. Ein typisches Beispiel dafür ist etwa Count Basies (1904-1984) »Jumpin' at the Woodside« (1938) im Originalarrangement seiner Band.
